The RoHS directives from 2023 will tighten the mercury regulation, which means that both fluorescent T5 and T8 tubes and compact fluorescent lamps (CFL) will be phased out during 2023.
LED lights are capable of saving around 40% of energy when changing from CFL lights and with 25,000 or more hours of life, an LED hands down beats the CFL bulb’s averages of around 8,000 hours. So put simple, CFL vs. LED bulbs… there’s plenty of positives to moving to LED sooner than later.
